    Overview : Voice engineers will be performing upgrades on the primary set of Provider Edge Routers.


    Impact : Intermittent drops of the VOIP Service can be expected, but all care will be taken to filter traffic 15 minutes prior to starting maintenance on a router to automatically re-route traffic to alternative paths.


    Risk : Medium

    Expected Downtime : 1-2 minutes.

    The Supplier technicians need to permanently repair the fibre infrastructure.


    The supplier will do permanent repair on the damaged optical fibre infrastructure between Ladysmith and Estcourt.

    No impact is expected to client services, as traffic will fail over to the redundant paths.

    Technical Description: The supplier urgently needs to replace the patch lead at Durban station; the current patch is a temporary overhead solution.
