    As per the latest update from Seacom, Teams are currently experiencing difficulties with pulling fibre from one side. However, the other side's fibre slack is okay.

    Dear Customer,

     

    Please take note of a Liquid Emergency Change scheduled on Marianhill between New Germany and PMB on NLD1 section 6 on the 21st October  2024 from 18h00 to 22nd October 2014 at 06h00. They urgently need to repair damaged cables at Marianhill that were damaged by excavator during the floods. Cables were relocated and new cables were floated . They are currently at risk of getting damaged by vandalism or fire as the cable is lying above ground.

      

    IMPACT: Services will be down for a maximum duration of 2Hrs during the change.

     

    Affected Services: NLD JB1-DB1

     

    Reason for Change:

     

    To repair damaged cables at Marianhill that were damaged by excavator during the floods. Cables were relocated and new cables were floated .We are currently at risk of getting damaged by vandalism or fire as cable is lying above ground.

    The latency on our JB1-CT1 NLD is back to normal. Openserve report that they had a dual path failure on the network and the circuit had been re-routed over a longer physical path.

    The failures have since been repaired.

    Dear Customer,

    Please take note of a Liquid Urgent Planned Change scheduled between Potchefstroom-Klerksdorp on the 12th October 2024 from 08:00 to 15:00. To Replace damaged Liquid NLD-2 48F with 72F from Liquid Klerksdorp POP towards Potchefstroom. New 72F was installed.

    IMPACT: Services will experience an intermittent 50ms switching hit.

    Affected Service: NLD JB1-CT1

    Reason for Change:

    To Replace damaged Liquid NLD-2 48F with 72F from Liquid Klerksdorp POP towards Potchefstroom. New 72F was installed.

    Implementation Plan

    The cables will be prepared.

    Cut the damaged fibre and splice the cable.

    Continuously confirming with both IP and SDH NOC for service restoration.

    Splice the rest of the fibres once all workers are through.

    Final confirmation with both NOC on completion.

    Roll Back Plan

    In the event services are affected, technicians on site will re-splice the fibre.
