    Dear Customer,

Please take note of a Liquid Urgent Planned Change scheduled at  Upington(Loop 2 to Loop 4) on the 23rd November 2024 from 09:00 to 14:00 (GMT: +02:00). Transnet Freight Rail Change to Migrate Fibre to the new concrete pole as cable is currently on wooden poles, the wooden poles are constantly getting stolen, and the fibre is currently on the ground which is putting services at risk.

    Affected Services:

IMPACT: Services will experience an intermittent 50ms switching hit.

    Implementation plan

Splice the fibre in new Concrete pole aerial fibre route at km 95 and km 107.

The NOC will confirm service restoration.

    Rollback Plan:

In the event services are not restoring, the technicians will stop the activity temporarily then follow the below:

Re-test and re-splice any damaged fibres to restore the services.

Test and confirm with the NOC that all services have restored.

Clients with protected services will be unaffected by this maintenance.

If you have any questions regarding this maintenance, please email support@networkplatforms.co.za
