    Dear Customer,

     

    Please take note of a Liquid Intelligent Technologies Emergency Change scheduled on NLD4 between Worcester to Bellville/Cape town pop on the 18th May 2025 from 06:00 to 17:00. We urgently need to repair fibre, NLD 4 cable has been partially burnt, causing damage to the cable and signal degradation. We need to pull slack and install a joint to fix the cable.

    IMPACT: Services will experience an intermittent 50ms switching hit.

    Affected Service:

    CT1 - JB1 - Liquid

    Reason for Change:

     To repair fibre, NLD 4 cable has been partially burnt, causing damage to the cable and signal degradation. We need to pull slack and install a joint to fix the cable. 

    Implementation plan

     

    1.         All fibres will be tested to confirm they are not damaged

    4.         Cut the old cable and prepare it into the new joint

    5.         Prioritize core links

    6.         Continuously confirming the NOC for service restoration

    7.         Splice the rest of the fibres once all workers are through

    8.         Final confirmation with both NOC on completion

     

    Rollback Plan:

     In the event services are not restored, technician will test fibres and re-splice.

    The NOC will confirm service restoration.
