    Please take note of a Liquid Urgent Planned Change scheduled at  Loop 12-Erts on the 13th February 2025 from 07:00 to 17:00. Transnet Freight Rail Urgent change to re-instate the mast poles that were damaged during train derailment. The Fibre will be cut, and mast poles will be moved to reinstate the line. There will be cranes working in that vicinity to remove the loco. 

    IMPACT: Services will experience an intermittent 50ms switching hit.

    Reason for Change:

     

    Transnet Freight Rail Urgent change to re-instate the mast poles that were damaged during train derailment. The Fibre will be cut, and mast poles will be moved to reinstate the line. There will be cranes working in that vicinity to remove the loco. 

     

     

    Implementation plan

     

    • The Fibre will be cut, and mast poles will be moved to reinstate the line. There will be cranes working in that vicinity to remove the loco. 

    • The technicians will Splice through OFC at Loop 12 KM 527/1 and 527/10

    • The NOC will confirm service restoration.

     

    Rollback Plan:

     

    In the event services are not restored, the technicians will stop the activity temporarily, then follow the below:

    Re-test and re-splice any damaged fibres to restore the services.

    Test and confirm with the NOC that all services have been restored.
