    We are experiencing high latency to some destinations in Asia and Australia.

    This issue has been escalated to the cable provider for further investigation.

    Current Observations:

    Johannesburg to Asia: Latency has increased to 144ms (normal baseline: ~116ms)

    Cape Town to Asia: Latency has risen to 223ms (normal baseline: ~135ms)

    Please be advised of the following scheduled maintenance:

    Maintenance Description:

    The supplier urgently needs to perform a permanent repair on damaged optic fibre infrastructure. A fibre fault occurred on 26 April 2026, after which technicians implemented a temporary repair to restore services. The upcoming maintenance window is necessary to replace the temporary solution with a permanent fix to ensure long-term network stability and reliability.

    Impact Description:

    No impact is expected to client services, as traffic will fail over to the redundant paths.
