High Latency to Asia and Australia

    Good day

    Latency to Asia and Australia is back to normal. The provider had re-routed the path as they were carrying out emergency maintenance in Northern Kedah, Malysia. Latency returned to normal as the original path was restored after the maintenance.

    Please take note of a Liquid Emergency Change scheduled at Cape Town on the 24th November 2024 from 09:30 to 13:00 (GMT: +02:00). To replace the faulty RAMAN board at Cape Town POP in Huawei DWDM , services are currently at risk as the channels are very low due to faulty RAMAN.


    IMPACT: Services  will experience an intermittent 50ms switching hit.


     

    Affected Services:

    Liquid NLD JB1-CT1

    Reason for Change:

     

    To replace the faulty RAMAN board at Cape Town POP in Huawei DWDM , services are currently at risk as the channels are very low due to faulty RAMAN.

     

    Implementation Plan

    1. Mark and Label all Existing patch-leads connected to card.

    2. Insert the spare one card.

    3. Connect all Patch-lead back to new card.

    4. Team will check status with new card.

     

    Rollback Plan:

     

    Team will revert the activity.

    • The London POP will be reconfigured to use route reflectors, similar to the South African router configuration.

    • AS328832 will be removed, and only AS37497 will be used in London.

    Impact:

    • IP Transit via London may experience brief outages during the reconfiguration process.

    • IP Transit traffic will be rerouted via South Africa breakout during the outage.
