    Seacom will have technicians at Parys in 30 minutes and Kroonstad in 60 minutes to start localising the issue.

    As per the latest update from Fibreco technician tested and found a fibre break at 13Km from Klip towards Parys.

    The technician is on the way to the fault location.


    ETA is 02hrs.

    Dear Customer,

    Please take note of a Liquid Planned Change scheduled between Potchefstroom-Klerksdorp (Foghville-N12) on the 12th April 2025 from 08:00 to 15:00 (GMT: +02:00). We need to remake the joint that is in a bad state at N12 Foghville Between Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp.


    IMPACT: Services will experience an intermittent 50ms switching hit.

    CT1 - JB1 - Liquid

     

    Reason for Change:

    We need to remake the joint that is in a bad state at N12 Foghville Between Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp.  


    Implementation Plan


    1.            Same cable will be used.

    2.            Cables will be prepared after into new fibre joints.

    3.            Same cable is already in use.

    4.            Cut the old cable and prepare it into the new joint.

    5.            Splice the cable as per service priority.

    6.            Continuously confirming with both IP and SDH NOC for service restoration.

    7.            Splice the rest of the fibres once all workers are through.

    8.            Final confirmation with both NOC on completion.

     

    Roll Back Plan

    • In the event services are affected, technicians on site will re-splice the fibre.

    • Confirm service restoration.
